Asst. Prof. Dr. Marta Vejseli, member of the IBU’s Faculty of Law, had the honor of speaking at the International Fair for Energy and Technology – ENERGO TEHNOMA 2024, held at the Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje from October 29-31, 2024.
Ass. Prof. Dr. Vejseli participated in a panel discussion titled “North Macedonia on the Path of Energy Transition – Energy Trends: Where is North Macedonia?” alongside distinguished representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the Regulatory Commission, and academia.
During the session, she shared valuable insights into the ongoing gasification process in North Macedonia and the country's efforts to enhance its energy infrastructure. She focused on the development of hydrogen-ready gas pipeline interconnections with neighboring countries, emphasizing the crucial role of gasification in the country’s energy transition. She highlighted how gasification can contribute to reducing carbon emissions, strengthening energy security, and aligning North Macedonia’s energy strategy with the EU’s “Fit for 55” initiative for a sustainable, low-carbon future.
Following the panel, Asst. Prof. Dr. Vejseli answered questions from journalists. She addressed several questions regarding the future of energy in North Macedonia, the role of international cooperation in energy projects, and the challenges and opportunities associated with the country’s transition to cleaner energy sources.
Ass. Prof. Dr. Vejseli reaffirmed her commitment to supporting North Macedonia’s energy goals and her belief in the importance of aligning with European Union standards to secure a sustainable energy future.
