In a significant show of support for higher education, the Minister of Trade of Türkiye, Mr. Ömer Bolat, paid an official visit to the International Balkan University (IBU) in Skopje.
Upon arrival, Minister Bolat was warmly welcomed by the Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Lüfti Sunar, in a ceremony held at the university's Senate Room.
The visit brought together key members of IBU's management board and a delegation led by Minister Bolat.
During the meeting, Rector Sunar provided an in-depth overview of the university’s programs, student body, and the various academic and extracurricular activities offered to its diverse population. He highlighted IBU’s commitment to fostering excellence in education and its role in promoting regional cooperation and understanding.
In response, Minister Bolat expressed his full and unconditional support for IBU’s initiatives. He acknowledged the university's significant contribution to education in the Balkans and emphasized the importance of nurturing future leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive the region’s development.
Mr. Bolat proudly shared that IBU is already among the best universities in North Macedonia, expressing his confidence that it will soon become the leading university not only in the country but across the entire region. He also confidently stated that IBU has the potential to become one of the most esteemed universities in Europe.
Minister Bolat further expressed his joy in hearing such positive feedback about IBU from high-ranking representatives of the North Macedonian government and other influential figures. He emphasized how the university’s growing reputation aligns with the vision of creating stronger ties between Türkiye and the broader region, especially in the field of education.
The meeting marked an important moment in strengthening the ties between the Turkish government and educational institutions in the region, with Minister Bolat reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to supporting IBU's continued growth and success.
