On 24th February, the third webinar - Enhancing students’ speaking skills, was organized by Asst. Prof. Dr. Marijana Klemenchich (IBU) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Cincioğlur. (ICU)

Upon the invitation of the Turkish Directorate General for Religious Teaching from Turkiye, and in collaboration with the ELT Department from Istanbul Cerrahpasa University (ICU), the ELT Department at the Faculty of Education, International Balkan University, organized a series of 6 webinars for English teachers in Turkiye, in the period between 10th February and 16th March 2024.
 
The first webinar, entitled Issues in the post-communicative approach and the Gen Z communication theory, was held on 10th February with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igbale Miftari-Fetishi (IBU) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncer Can (ICU).
 
The second webinar, Teaching Practice as a Key Component of Teacher Training, was organized by Prof. Dr. Ana Kechan (IBU) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Serap Önen (ICU) .

Enhancing language teaching with AI technologies - was the name of the fourth webinar, organized by Asst. Prof. Dr. Emin Idrizi (IBU) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncer Can (ICU).
 
The fifth webinar, entitled How to focus on form and meaning in grammar instruction, was organized by Asst. Prof. Dr. Marija Stevkovska (IBU) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülay Kıray (ICU).
 
The series of webinars ended with the sixth webinar, Literature in the ELT Classroom, which was held on 16th March with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sezen Ismail (IBU) and Dr. Hanife Taşdemir Şit (ICU).
 
This was an excellent opportunity for the ELT staff to collaborate with their colleagues from Istanbul Cerrahpasa University, share their teaching experience and set up an international network for further cooperation.
Over 50 English teachers from primary and secondary schools in Turkey actively participated in the webinar.
