The Erasmus+ Project activities titled "Traces of the Ancient", jointly carried out by the International Balkan University - Projects and Research Office (PRO) and TÜRGEV Foundation, have started on Wednesday, 3rd April on the IBU campus.

On the welcoming day of the Erasmus+ project called "Traces of the Ancients", which deals with the issue of Ramadan in the Balkans, the Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, and Vice Rector Asst. Prof. Seyhan M. İbrahimi met with the project participants and shared experiences and ideas.

Rector Sunar, in his speech stated that this project is an exciting project. Stating that universities are areas of interaction, Sunar emphasized that universities are an environment where differences and innovations are born. Pointing out the importance of oral histories, Sunar underlined that oral histories add hearing skills to people.

The project's objective is to preserve cultural values and heritage before they disappear and to pass them on to future generations. As part of this effort, an oral history study will be conducted in North Macedonia to document the daily lives, experiences, memories, and cultural practices of people living in different regions during the month of Ramadan.

The Traces of the Ancients Erasmus+ project takes place in North Macedonia between April 2nd and 17th, 2024. It aims to increase student interaction between the International Balkan University and TÜRGEV Foundation, providing students with a unique perspective.
