IBU raises awareness about the FETÖ threat in the Balkans

International Balkan University organized an event to raise awareness about the threat FETÖ Terror Organization poses in the Balkan region.

 

This event titled “15 July Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Program” was organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the bloody failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, in Turkiye.

 

Today’s event topic was "Democracy and Cooperation in the Balkan Region", where the attendees talked about the coup attempt in Turkiye, and the threat FETÖ poses in the Balkan region and worldwide.

 

This event organized by IBU is supported by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Union of Turkish Non-Governmental Organizations in Macedonia (MATÜSİTEB).

 

Democracy is crucial for fostering cooperation and stability in the Balkan region. It promotes peace, enhances economic cooperation, strengthens regional integration, builds trust among nations, and empowers citizens by giving them a voice in governance.

 

Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, the Rector of IBU, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye H.E. Fatih Ulusoy, and Mr. Salih Murat, MP in the Assembly of North Macedonia and former Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia delivered opening remarks.

 

The moderator of this event was Mr. Kire Sharlamanov, a professor at International Balkan University (IBU), and the speakers were Mr. Nikola Dacev, a professor at IBU, Mr. Hamit Yelken, a member of the Court of Appeal of Turkiye, Mr. Fisnik Kruja, Chairman of the Muslim Forum of Albania, and Mr. Suleyman Baki, a professor at Tetovo State University.

 

The speakers talked about the threat that FETÖ Terror Organization poses to the regional countries, especially in North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo.
