North Macedonia Inscriptions Project Field Works Have Started

As part of the project led by the International Balkan University and supported by the North Macedonian Ministry of Culture and the Islamic Union of North Macedonia, inscriptions of Ottoman architectural works in cities, towns, and villages within the current borders of North Macedonia will be photographed, the texts will be transcribed into Latin letters and modern Turkish, and then translated into Albanian, Macedonian, and English.

A book will be published from these texts and visuals, and finally, standing tablets will be prepared from the texts and mounted next to the original inscriptions.

On the first day, buildings and inscriptions in the center of Skopje, on the second day in the surrounding places of Skopje, and on the third day in Tearce, Tetovo, Urviç, Jelovjane, Vrapchishte, and Gostivar were visited and photographed.
