The Faculty of Law at International Balkan University (IBU) successfully organized the weekly “FLAW Student Debate” in the University Courtroom. This event provided an excellent platform for intellectual exchange and critical thinking.
Students from both the affirmative team (Pinar Ozerson, Mert Haki, and Teodora Pavlova) and the negative team (Muge Buyuktortop, Oguzhan Harmanci, and Sevval Arpaci) engaged in a highly thought-provoking discussion on the relevant and timely topic: “The next EU Enlargement should be completed by 2030.” The debate was truly captivating and highlighted the students’ deep understanding of the subject.
This event was thoughtfully organized by Asst. Leposava Ognjanoska Stavrovska, who not only prepared the topic but also coordinated the debate with great insight and professionalism, ensuring a smooth and productive session.
As the judge, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mare Ushkovska evaluated the arguments with a discerning eye, praising the students for their legal reasoning, thorough preparation of both affirmative and negative theses, well-developed argumentation, impressive rhetorical skills, and unwavering dedication to defending their positions.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their outstanding efforts in making this debate a success. Their passion and commitment were truly inspiring. We look forward to witnessing more such dynamic discussions in the future.
This week’s debate was organized as part of the IBU Jean Monnet Project EU&WB, generously funded by the European Commission, further enhancing the university’s role in promoting European studies and fostering academic excellence.
