"How Are You? I'm Fine! - Behind the Mask": Exploring Authentic Communication at IBU

As part of "Days of Psychology 2024," the International Balkan University (IBU) hosted a truly enlightening workshop titled "How Are You? I'm Fine! - Behind the Mask" on November 11, 2024. This workshop, organized with remarkable attention to detail, brought together students from the Departments of Psychology and Visual Arts to delve into the complexities of authentic communication.

Participants engaged in a series of innovative and thought-provoking activities, including mask-making, performance art, and dynamic group discussions centered on emotions, the social scripts we follow, and the societal norms tied to the seemingly simple question, "How are you?"

Through role-playing and an interactive performance, the students explored the deeper meanings behind authentic communication, encouraging introspection and fostering genuine reflection on how we connect with one another. This approach not only enriched their understanding of emotional expression but also helped them embrace vulnerability and authenticity in social interactions.

The workshop was expertly facilitated by the talented team of teaching assistants: Andrea Velinova, Fatime Ziberi, and Mia Kostovska, whose dedication and insightful guidance were pivotal in creating an engaging and transformative experience for all participants.

IBU’s steadfast commitment to nurturing emotional intelligence and facilitating meaningful conversations sets an exceptional benchmark for both academic and personal development. The success of this event serves as a powerful testament to the university's dedication to enhancing students' lives through innovative and immersive learning experiences that inspire growth and self-discovery.
